Several gunshots were reportedly heard during the disturbance before police arrived to break up the clash. Police are believed to have cordoned off the area in front of the courthouse and made at least seven arrests in connection with the incident. According to local media reports, the violence is believed to have erupted between the groups due to a dispute over the killing of a relative of one of the leaders.

Those in Istanbul are advised to exercise caution in the Caglayan area of the city in the immediate term and minimise non-essential travel in the vicinity of the courthouse due to the ongoing police operations. Travellers should monitor local media sources for further updates on the incident.
