09/21/2017 (Puerto Rico) - According to reports from local media sources on Thursday, 21 September, much of Puerto Rico has been left without power after Hurricane Maria severely damaged infrastructure and property across much of the island. Authorities are still attempting to survey the damage done by the hurricane in order to fully evaluate the scale of the hurricane's impact. Initial reports suggest power supplies may remain non-functional for "months as opposed to weeks or days", according to the territory's governor. At least one person has been confirmed as killed due to the hurricane, though this figure may well be revised upwards once the full extent of the damage becomes clear. Due to reports of looting, a curfew has been imposed from 1800hrs to 0600hrs (2200 - 1000 UTC). The hurricane itself has moved away from the island and weakened in strength.

Unless absolutely essential, it is recommended that clients continue to shelter in place, remaining indoors and refraining from conducting movement. Avoid walking or driving through floodwaters and be wary of potential hazards such as downed power lines and fallen debris. Closely and continually monitor local media and government sources for related updates, advice, and directives, and ensure extraordinary directives issued, such as curfews, are observed.
