09/20/2017 (Palestinian Territories/ West Bank and Gaza Strip) - Media sources report on Wednesday, 20 September, that the West Bank and the Gaza Strip are going to be placed on lock down for Rosh Hashanah from 20 September until 22 September. The blockades are set to start on Wednesday evening and Palestinians will be prohibited from entering Israel unless for medical emergencies and humanitarian cases.
Those in the West Bank and Gaza Strip are advised to monitor local media for further updates regarding the status of the borders, as the security measures may be subject to change. Travellers in Israel should adopt a heightened sense of vigilance, reporting any suspicious activity or items to security officials over the aforementioned period.
