Multiple Fatalities following Shootout between Gang and Security Forces in Teloloapan, Guerrero

09/18/2017 (Mexico) - According to local media reports on Monday, 18 September, eight gang members and a soldier have been killed during a shootout in the municipality of Teloloapan in the western state of Guerrero. The gang members were reportedly dressed in fake military uniforms when they opened fire on a military patrol on the Teloloapan-San Antonio Acachautlan highway.

Violent crime and cartel activity is prevalent in Guerrero, and as such, clients are advised to regularly review security risk management protocols to ensure they remain commensurate to the prevailing local threat environment.
