09/17/2017 (Pakistan) - According to emerging local media outlets on Sunday, 17 September, at least five people have been killed following a bomb blast in Bajaur Agency, in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA). The explosion occurred when a group of government agents were travelling on a road in the vicinity of Tangi in Loi Mamond. Among those killed was a government official, Fawad Ali. Security forces have arrived at the scene and are conducting search operations.

Those with operationally-critical travel requirements within the Bajaur Agency and other parts of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas are advised to subject all movements to strict security risk management protocols following a comprehensive localised threat assessment. Travellers should minimise time spent in the vicinity of police and military buildings, checkpoints and patrols, as these are prime targets for insurgent attacks.
