09/16/2017 (Tunisia) - According to local media reports, a demonstration is scheduled to be held in Tunis city centre on Saturday, 16 September, commencing at 1500hrs (1400 UTC) on Avenue Habib Bourguiba. The protest is being held by opposition supporters to denounce the recent parliamentary approval of a new law granting amnesty to public officials involved in corruption. The event is anticipated to garner a high attendance and is likely to escalate into violence.
