09/15/2017 (Pakistan) - According to local media outlets on Friday, 15 September, at least five people were injured after a grenade was thrown in front of a Frontier Corps post at the Torkham border crossing with Afghanistan. The attack came after a grenade was detonated on the Afghan side of the crossing which led to 14 injures. No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks at this time. The Torkham border crossing was reopened in March following a prolonged closure by Pakistani authorities following a suicide bombing attack in Sehwan, Baluchistan.

Due to the threat from militant activity, those operating in the area are advised to exercise a heightened level of vigilance and operate under strict security risk management protocols in coordination with a trusted security provider. Travellers should monitor local media sources to remain apprised of security-related incidents in their particular area of operations and heed any directives issued by local authorities.
