09/15/2017 (Mexico) - According to reports from local media sources on Friday, 15 September, disruption is expected in most major urban centres on Friday and Saturday due to events commemorating Mexico's Independence Day, commemorated on 16 September. Large-scale celebrations are scheduled to take place at the Zocalo plaza in Mexico City centre, where demand for public transport services is likely to be high, causing congestion and possible delays. A heightened security presence can also be expected in the capital and major cities that may result in road closures and diversions.

Those in major urban centres during celebrations are advised to remain vigilant in the vicinity of large crowds, be mindful of the increased security presence, heed any directives issued by authorities, and report suspicious items and activity immediately. Clients are reminded that although Independence Day events are likely to remain largely peaceful and celebratory, unruly crowd behaviour and opportunistic crime is possible.
