09/15/2017 (Senegal) - According to reports from local media sources on Friday, 15 September, supporters of expelled activist Kemi Seba are expected to hold a protest march on Saturday, along a route from Dakar's Place de l'Obelisque to the French embassy in the capital. A prominent civil society group has lent its endorsement to the rally, which is therefore likely to be well-attended.

Travellers should remain clear the protest due to the risk of exposure to potential crowd disturbances, incidental violence and opportunistic crime as well as aggressive police crowd dispersal operations. Those in Dakar should monitor local media sources for updates relating to the unrest and any planned or spontaneous protest in their area of operations.
