Man Arrested after Threatening Soldier with Knife, Paris

09/15/2017 (France) - According to local media sources on Friday, 15 September, a man has been arrested near the Chatelet metro station in Paris after threatening a soldier with a knife. The man was allegedly making references to the Islamic State (IS) militant group during the attack, but this is yet to be confirmed. Police have cordoned off the metro station and are carrying out security operations.

Clients in Paris are advised to maintain a high state of vigilance due to the elevated terror threat. The observation of any suspicious activity or discovery of any suspect object should be immediately reported to the authorities. Travellers intending to arrive or depart at Chatelet metro station should anticipate disruption to services in the immediate term.
