09/15/2017 (Colombia) - According to local media sources on Thursday, 14 September, thousands are demonstrating in Bogota over a set of controversial policies promoted by the current city council. Reports indicate that over 40 political and social organisations are campaigning for recall elections on the Bogota's city mayor, Enrique Penalosa. At this time, demonstrators have interrupted vehicular traffic on the 22nd street with the Carrera Decima street in the city centre.

Travellers are advised that demonstrations, whether planned or spontaneous, should be avoided where possible due to the risk of exposure to potential violence and opportunistic crime. Alternative journey routes should be considered in order to circumvent the aforementioned area, reducing the risk of potential travel delays. Expect an increased police response in the vicinity of the aforementioned area.
