Local Mexican health authorities confirmed the reappearance of the AH1N1 flu, or swine flu, that flared into a large worldwide epidemic two years ago. At least two people have died from the virus and another is infected in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua state. Health officials say there are currently 25 other suspected cases. Chihuahua state authorities have decreed an "epidemic alert" and schools in the area say they will send any student home showing signs of infection.
Between April 2009 and June 2010, Mexican authorities maintained a health alert to control the AH1N1 virus, which left a total of 1,316 people dead and 72,548 others infected.
