November 20, 2009. Swine Flu Spreads as Pilgrims Arrive in Saudi Arabia for Haj

There have been at least 20 detected cases of A/H1N1 among millions of pilgrims arriving in Saudi Arabia for the annual Hajj, or pilgrimage, Saudi health officials reported on November 19th, warning that the number of cases could skyrocket, leaving tens of thousands infected. The health ministry has reportedly been monitoring all pilgrims entering the country amid fears that the virus could infect thousands, who will return to their home countries shortly, passing along the infections.
