August 12, 2009. India Closes Public Places to Control the Spread of Swine Flu

All Mumbai schools, colleges, and cinemas will be closed for one week starting on August 13th in an effort to control the spread of A/H1N1 flu virus in the commercial capital of Maharashtra state, which has seen 11 out of the 15 swine flu deaths in India, local officials announced on August 12th. Passenger screening was introduced at India's main 22 international airports.
