July 13, 2006. Possible Assassination Plot against Thai PM

Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra confirmed on 13 July 2006 that intelligence officials had warned him of a possible plot to assassinate him. The statement comes after Interior Minister Kongsak Wanthana dismissed the assassination rumors on 12 July. Thaksin's personal security has been increased and an investigation into the alleged threat is ongoing.
